Welcome to the online ministry of Tabor United Church of Christ. Something has brought you to this website, to this particular page, and for that we are thankful. It is here where we can present to you the way of finding the greatest gift ever imagined—the gift of eternal life!
The Bible, the Word of God, is filled with story after story of God’s greatness and power, His love and mercy, His covenant to those that believe. These are only a few of the many scriptures that speak of God’s promise of eternal life:
- “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”—John 3:14-16
- “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”— John 3:36
- “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”—John 4:14
- “But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”—Romans 6:22-23
The message is the same: the gift of eternal life can be yours, if you believe. It may seem almost too good to be true. We all are sinners and may not feel worthy of anyone’s love, least of all God’s love. But we were created by God out of love, and as His children, He loves us now and forever. It is because of this love that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live on this earth as human, in flesh and blood. Through His death, Jesus became the sacrifice for all of mankind, taking away our sins, allowing us to enter into eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. And all we need to do is believe. Believe in God and His power and greatness. Believe in God’s mercy and love. Believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Believe in the gift of eternal life.
There is no mention in the Bible of a single, specific prayer of salvation. Romans 10:9-10 tells us “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
We offer to you this simple prayer of salvation. Prepare yourself for this prayer by opening your mind to the Word of God. Open your heart to receive Jesus Christ and the love of God.

Salvation Prayer Dear Heavenly Father: I know I’m a sinner and that without You I am lost. Please forgive me for my sins, for the sins I’ve committed against others, and help me to forgive those who have sinned against me. I believe that Jesus is alive today because You raised Him from the dead. I invite Jesus to come into my heart and be a part of my life. I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, and with Him, I accept eternal life. I renounce citizenship of the kingdom of darkness and joyfully receive citizenship of the kingdom of Your Son. Lord, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and give me all the blessings promised in Your Word and those that You want to give to me. Help me to live for You from this day forward. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Scriptural References: Romans 10:9-10 John 6:37
